it's the later j-type with finer spines on. I only used it because I had it and I knew it had been rebult. You'd make life much simplier getting an earlier sunbeam/rapier/humber/sceptre 'vertical' box that would bolt straight in.

Cover eventually turned up. I'd tried about half a dozen manufacturers around they UK. Most weren't interested / didn't have templates (oddly enough!) Found an out fit that came and measured her up and added extra zips to order (at £20 per zip).

They are the OEM suppliers to Bentley and McClaren - so the quality is just about right for a commer. I went for the extra heavy weight fabric option which was another £20.
Overall I'm really pleased with it, did cost twice as much as one I bought a few years back for another car but the quality is much better and it fits better.
Been toying with electronics again. I know i can buy a wash wipe kit but it is my more fun (and probably more expensive) to make your own out bit of montego.
talking of electronics, after driving her in the dark a lot over xmas i added a couple of extra rear lights as i'm paranoid about being driven into. They are surface mount so no permanent damage to the van.
