R2 the battle bus

Now seen why windscreen leaked so much, no sealant under the roof visor bit. Couldn’t put the roof up as roof timber surrounds aren’t sealed. Still a lovely holiday though

A little bit of hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. And the blue is correct as it’s dry powder

It’s turning out to be less complicated than I thought it would be. Bit of rust treatment last thing yesterday so will get the rest done today. The conversion company did a fabulous job with the roof lining, even putting extra bits on the sides so there are no gaps between roof and side tops. They will need some little handles now as snug fit with no “finger” gaps. If I remember I’ll get roof up and take some pics

Just the front bit to go. Got some oak to make the cover strips. Not sure how I’m going to do the strip behind roof latch as the plank will bring it 25mm forward so angle may be too great for it to work. If anyone has done similar and has imput?

If it's the rectangular spring piece you mean then there was originally a strip of formica stuck behind it to the roof panel end, the same stuff as used on the work tops.

This bit. I may have to come up with a wire loop thing or something

Ah the one that punctures your head when you lean into the cab when the roof is up
Can't you move the hook bit along the roof spar to compensate for the thickness of you wood trim?

Got the last bit of headlining up and finally got a latch and even that had to be altered as well as whittling of the oak plank. If I had a pound for every swear word uttered I probably could have paid to get it done professionally lol.
