R2 the battle bus

Well captain sensible has left the building and R2 is going in to get rusted out panels replaced and an outside bare metal respray in December/January and it’s only going to cost the national debt of a small third world country. But we don’t mention the ‘m’ word on here lol
It’s not a wreck but if it’s done now then it won’t get worse.
Martin is obviously going to make all need panels and hopefully he has all the rubbers and seals still.
Gladly accept all and any input, advice , mockery etc lol

And a lot of it is blue lol. The bottom of the front doors have rotten out and the front and back lower valences(?) have holes. P/side main panel has a nasty blown crack in filler mmmmm. I’m going to keep it forever so it will see me out lol if I do it now

Thanks. Hopefully nothing bad lol. He’s going in early January. Martin has supplied all panels and seals needed so hopefully plain sailing

So today I have discovered that what I thought was hardboard covering an old ply floor is actually just hardboard directly on the metal bed. Insulation and ply would be a great idea but unfortunately I will have to remake all the furniture or it won’t fit under the windows etc. How annoying! No wonder I couldn’t screw my new furniture down properly

R2 has left the building with a gremlin messing with the electrics making it a pig to start so I can add that to the list . They start the strip show in Monday

Even found some flutes under the filler. The only extra horror so far is a nasty welded patch with filler on drivers door

Fingers crossed. The least they find the more I have to sort out the furniture. By Friday they should have stripped him completely and hopefully a tiny list of bits needed to give to Martin. Rock on!
