Meet Ted

Found them

I've fitted Mini weather strips to the windows but they left gaps in the seals

So a packet of Sugru was used to finish the ends and , hopefully keep a bit more weather out

I've also been tidying up the wiring behind the dash and reminding myself where all the wires I fitted went
Dash and glove box back in

Elephants trunk back in and more wiring tidying happened, still a bit more to do

I also did a repair on the Harvey's door step as it was an advisory at last years MOT

FymCAd9.jpg

It will soon be chopped back out again as I've got Martins inner and outer step panels to fit once Ted has been satisfied :D

All lit up for the first time in a long while :)

I fitted a slightly larger horn in the hope it will be heard when I use it:rolleyes:

Trying to sort out the exhaust at the moment, the MG Midget manifold I fitted a while back has fallen to bits so some head scratching going on.

Unfortunately with the Cooper head and 1 1/2" exhaust system he's lost the overrun fruity fart, more of a grumbly parp now:)

Oil in, new points, static timing set. Suppose I'd better go for it:p

Building the oil pressure

Then go for a start, apologies for the odd HT leads I cobbled them together for a, hopefully, start. Inexcusable I know but new ones on the way

Didn't quite go to plan first go, I missed something. Can you spot it

But when I spotted my mistake..................................

Only a quick run as I haven't fitted the rad yet.

I'ze a proper YouTuber me ;)

Garage roof replaced and weather tight after the storm damage in December :) Since then I've spent a couple of hours most days in the garage working my way through stuff but don't seen to have much to show for it. Working through lots of little jobs seems to eat up the time with very little that looks different.

The front bumper is on and lights working eventually after finding a dodgy connection on the side light fuse

Rear bumper is on to line up the brackets for the mounting holes. Number plate and lights cleaned up quite nicely with the lights being stripped, cleaned and painted

I've got something out of line when putting the new sill sections on the drivers side as the new sill finisher sat too far in, I tried modifying the new one I bought but it warped badly so I made a new on to fit, the other side is fine

The front end of the finisher needed widening for it to line up with the door bottom and wing. It looks parallel here but that forced perspective it's actually about 1/4" wider than a normal finisher.

I'm running out of excuses to get the timber sections I need so it looks like a big hole in my bank account is imminent

Bonus vid after I'd plumbed in the radiator and fitted new leads, plugs and air filter. Up to temp with no leaks:)

Blimey two months since the last update but I have been busy honest:)

First of all a little job under the bonnet, I changed the rocker cover for the original and fitted a nice new Morris badge

Then things got serious:cool:

It was time to start the woodwork so while I was waiting for the frame to arrive from Woodies I stripped and treated the rear doors with a wood preserver then they got the Sikkens light oak treatment.

A couple of small repairs to a couple of the joints that had opened up but the rest of the doors are pretty good.

I was still waiting so I had a go at putting the screen in. Several sweaty hours later

The corners pulled in nicely with the locking strip in

MprmHMF.jpg

The tool I bought for fitting the locking trim broke:confused: So I made one and it worked better than the bought one

The broken tool scraped some of the chrome finish off the trim, bugger.

The timber sections finally arrived so I set about treating and assembling the sections.

Got wood:)

Roughly assembled

And the treatment started

Glued, screwed and stained

The pristine conditions that is my garage with the second coat of Sikkens drying

Now it's time to fit the side panels and wings

Firstly the wing piping was stapled in position

Then the wing and panels screwed in place with a bead of butyl sealing tape sandwiched between.

Might as well tidy the paint on the inside while I'm here
The rather haphazard sound deadening will be covered by the interior trim cards.

So that's it you're up to date, I'm currently waiting for some screws to arrive for the final fitting to the car but it will probably be Monday before they turn up - twiddles fingers:rolleyes:

Thanks Jim, Harvey's next. He's looking a little shabby and I've got a stack of new panels for him:)
V8 Hmmmmmmm:cool: But no
