1/4 light Seals

At today's 19/03/2012 conversion rate which is $1= 0.66p then a set would be approx £46. Allowing £20 for delivery and taxes then a set would be around the £65 mark. I shall try to get more accurate information on delivery costs and taxes and post them on here.[8D]

We need to order one hundred sets to make this worthwhile for the manufacturer.

Ruperts on the mend!!

Trevor (Daytona), has kindly contacted the guy who makes the 1/4 light seals for the Imp.
Basically he is prepared to make them for the Commers, but reguires a minimum order of 40 pairs @ £75/pair.
This is a fairly hefty sum, but considering the work creating the tooling, it isn't too bad. Our problem would be getting paid orders for 40 sets.
We are currently seeing an upsurge in interest in Commers, but I don't think it is yet strong enough to support such an order [V] But, please prove me wrong, as I could do with some ;)

This scheme has now collapsed, as only myself and one other put in a firm order [V]

It would require someone with more knowledge than I, but I wonder if 3D printing can bring the cost of producing these down?
Perhaps the tooling (or the seals themselves?) could be produced via someone like MyMiniFactory? http://www.myminifactory.com/
It seems that you can print metal as well as plastic.
It could be a source of other useful obsolete parts too, perhaps.

Just to keep interest up in the seals ,I fitted a windscreen rubber to my series 3 Rapier ,which is made by the same guy . all went well with the stainless trim fitting great .I have also fitted the 1/4 vent rubbers to a Huskey and they also were great, We need numbers.

It was supposed to be sorted, until the manufacturers wanted to make double the quantity. Watch this space for any further developments.
