Unfortunately, I think the chances of getting 60 preorders paid up front in full isn't great. Undoubtedly, some of us are desperate for these seals - but as can probably be seen, there is not really the demand in quantity - otherwise they would have already been made. So, what do we do - wait for enough orders to be paid up front or look to a different way?
The Imp club and traders paid to have quarterlight seals from the same source, and they have taken an awfully long time to sell once the initial desperate owners paid for the ones they needed for their cars. It must also be pointed out that there are far more Imps on the road that there are Commers. However, they have a number of traders who club together to fund these projects. We don't have the same luxury. Usually, the said traders would sit on a stock of seals that will sell over a number of years (this is the traditional way of doing it) and recoup the outlay with a return, eventually. This is the traditional problem for owners of vehicles that are not very common or which have small clubs. If you have an MGB, Volkswagen etc - these issues don't exist as there is always demand for parts. Unfortunately, we are owners of not very common vehicles.
Sounds like we have something to discuss in Wales....
