I'm think it's made by Webber. It is a hydrophilic lift, it's run off a compressor. It's very good and I love it. Fully portable to (comes with a long leaver with wheels on the end that you lock in to the center and leaver the wheels down and lock in place, then move it around. It's a good peace of kit, and takes the weight of a Commer. As it is in the pic is only half hight, if i go any higher I will make holes in my roof. The best of all is it's not mine, my m8 bought it then moved house and no longer has a garage to keep/use it in, so i'm storing it for him.

powered by rust and brimstone !
That's looking soooo nice[8D]
CJ Autos do a similar lift, 2500 kgs capacity.
So things have still been progressing.
I'm quite glad I missed my deadline of the summer as it was so miserable and wet i wouldn't have had the chance to enjoy the old bus properly.
Anyway the extra time has come in handy, I have no decided for a full engine rebuild after finding a main bearing was a little scored, (after taking off the engine end plates to get the other two mains off I find they are as good as new). Anyway I may as well do it now its in bits.
These things generally a little take longer than you expect:I
Your work is looking superb, what coating have you used on the underneath.
How refreshing
I have spent weeks cleaning all the under seal, oil and general **** off the underside of the van , seem sealed it all up and painted with red oxide, and then 4 cans of black stone chip, all being well in the next 2 weeks, it will be done in 2k white gloss Just like the front.
Some amazing work here- well done! -All these pictures will be useful when you need an agreed valuation from an insurance company. Keep up the good work -Mike (Clarabel and Co -Hazels Dad)
If i were you i would use the axle with the bigger drums and cut outs in the face. This axle is a later one and has a better diff ratio for higher cruising speeds.
Are you using a diesel engine then looking at your engine pics?? Its prob worth getting a 1725cc petrol lump for it,for what it will cost and the fact you have gone to so much trouble??
A commer with even bigger boost will be appering on a screen near you soon!
No, I'm not interested in petrol, I like the Perkins lump, and lets face it how many PB campers do you see that are diesel.
The yellow axle is out of a 73 petrol van and the other is out of the diesel 71 van.
The diesel van has and overdrive box so i wonder if the taller yellow axle would be to much for it to pull, i.e would it be over geared?
It might be worth fitting the petrol version with the bigger drums. Appart from the fact the smaller shoes are more difficult to come by the higher gearing could prove useful, what size wheels will you be running 14's or 15's.
Looks like mr "M"s theory is right as the better 4.77.1 diff ratio didnt get put on the vans till the dodge front came out so prob both same diff ratio. mark the diff flange and the drum and count the rotations, then you will know. You will regret that snail smokey oil burner when you fit it I recon you can never get going enough to drop it in to overdrive, will have to be a steep downhill

So ignoring the fact I have an engine in bits and lots of other bits and peaces that can do with being put back together, I decided to day to strip the rear suspension down ( by this I do mean unbolt the springs and shocks from the axle ).
I have never taken a leaf spring to bits before and or tho mine look good with little wear. I decided to strip them down.
now in between the leafs are these
I know they are very worn and are to space the spring to stop metal on metal wearing.
My question is, Has anyone renewed these and with what?
I want to know if I can get some or what should I make them out of?
