A big push today, carpeting the drivers side of the cabin and putting everything back together. Just waiting in a voltage stabiliser and some star washers for fixing the Commer letters. I have sourced a weld on filler neck and lockable petrol cap. Then it’s MOT time. All systems, electrics and mechanicals are GO!I have had minis and have tried mini caps to no avail....I have a plan
The combination of weld and filler neck would not fill me with confidence!
Why not? Am I missing something?

I have a Waso locking cap on mine. Auto jumble or fleabay. Can't remember which.
Simply the risk of sparks and fuel vapour.
I'd hope he'd take it off the van first

The neck is seperate from the tank so just needs removing from the van before welding
Back from the garage and the brakes need some work, I have sourced a replacement wheel cylinder, just trying to source some new shoes

Wow, when we first bought the van, our first trip was to Devon, the starter motor went about a mile from this place, they had a replacement
Few on EBay cheap at moment. I’d do both cylinders and the hoses if they’re all all old For the cost and whilst they’d need bleeding
Found fronts dont know which rears I have, seem to remember there were 2 rear drum sizes?
Think there’s is, there’s also different bores on the cylinders I seem to remember so have to be careful there
There are two sizes of front cylinders, later vans have a larger bore. The rear cylinders are the same all though apart from the Series and PA models having a lever for the hand brake. I do seem to remember there were two sizes of rear drum as well cant remember the diameters but I would think they would only get bigger as the van models were updated so yours would be the larger type. A tape measure would take the guess work out of it
At last, a locking petrol cap.
Also made a new base for the bed. Our new table is a bit lightweight to sleep on, so I knocked together this packable option.
