More at it today. The battery tie downs are done. The new number plate panel has been made up using the same gas boiler casings I used for the battery box. I wanted to use the original one but it was easier to fabricate a new one. I've also made a number plate light panel to fit modern style LED units. There's still a fair amount of trimming to do once I start welding it all together.

Well I went to fit the number plate panel to find that whoever had replaced it previously fitted it wrong, the offside valance was an inch further forward than the nearside! I relief cut the mount and rewelded it to move the valance to the rear.
Long story short... it's in and primed ready to seam seal and paint either matt black or a similar blue to the van.

First test fit with the fuel tank in place. Its tight but all fits as I'd hoped. I've had to weld captive nuts in for the fuel tank as I won't be able to get a nut on when it goes in.

I had no chance of matching any of the multitude of blues on the van so I went for Ford Monza blue as its close-ish to one of the shades on the van. Lovely colour. Makes me want to do the rest of the van now..
