Finally rediscovered my new number plates with raised letters but spotted a mix up on the order should be 96N ...

Luckily the 6 and 9 are interchangeable but those star washes are proving a pig to remove - is there a knack or special tool for this ?

Fine nose pliers ot small flat head screwdriver and try bending enough of the teeth back to get them off? And then squash them flat again. Or cut them but make sure you can get replacements first lol
 
I'm now in the process of refurbishing my side windows and looking for sources of the following ;

Rubber channel seal for the fixed window, as mine is a little hard but more crucially a good few inches too short.

Cloth insert for sliding window

Never had this seal but one clearly fits here to seal the gap between fixed and sliding windows.

Ahh where did you get the cloth from? My plastic stuff for the sliding windows has buckled etc. Have you got a Pb cos both my windows slide. 0C16FA9D-9446-46E9-8524-339C1292942E.jpeg That’s the channel the rear window should slide along
 
Typical Auto-sleeper, mines the same on one side:( No idea where to get it.
For Paul's windows - if Martin hasn't got it try Woolies Trim, they have many sections listed on their site. Won't be listed as a Suntor window rubber but they have cross sectional diagrams with measurements.

I'm needing to place an order with Martin anyway so will see what he has. Will also check out the Seals Direct and Woolies catalogues, they look useful sites to bookmark.
 
Successfully removed those starlock washer from my number plates with a flat blade screwdriver. Clearly these aren't designed for re-use but are cheap enough, all now replaced with stainless steel to keep rust away from my bodywork !
 
Another question, this time about bumpers ...
I've salvaged some decent chrome bumpers but their brackets are a rather loose. However, their brackets are totally rusted up and might require a nut splitter to remove. Are the bolts standard coach bolts (in case I damage the bolt threads) ?
 
Pretty sure they are but remember the brackets are handed - not by much but you will crease the bumper if they are on the wrong side. Also make sure you retrieve the spacers that sit on the bolts between the bumper and the bracket.
