Serious question, just for a change! Where did you get the leaf springs uprated Martin? Mine are pretty worn out, and they don't really like being at 2.3 tons fully laden (that's what the local weighbridge told me!) for the Le Mans trip and it makes them bend the wrong way! Do you reckon a competent blacksmith could re-temper them?
 
I had them done in Birmingham, a mate of Will, works at a spring company. Cost £100. I wouldn't have thought a blacksmith would be able to do it, i think it's quite a pricise technique to get them even.
They put in a couple of extra new leaves, that's why they are so high ;)
 
OMG.... Colin and i have just been sat here, reading through this topic.... Mainly with our chins dropping half the time. That is so amazing, words cannot describe...
Also when it was dipped, how did you manage not to dip them in acid, must of been completely heart breaking...
Been looking on site for more progress.

Thanks, not much progress lately, been doing the telecom van (see topic) and the Model 'A', but will get back to it soon ;)

I cannot believe the progress I have to see it to believe it can't wait for another tour [8D]
what intentions do you have once this is completed how will you use it ?
(the detector has me confused) it's a conversation piece for sure.
