I'll be intrigued to hear how it drives with the auto box. A friend of my dad's had a Hillman Hunter Auto in the seventies. Apart from the soggy gear change, I seem to remember it was very slow and uneconomical to run. Eventually he sold it in the fuel crisis as it was too thirsty. He used to say every time you used kick down it swallowed ten pence worth of petrol; and that was when it was eighty pence a gallon!!
