Panky is right, Norwich Union, now called Aviva can have some good deals for young drivers. My youngest son has fully comp with them on a 1.4 Citroen C2 and my sister has just managed to get all of her four children (two 17 year olds on provisional, one 20 on full and one 23 on provisional) on a policy for a VW Polo for just over £500.

£1500-2000 is about the norm, we have been thru' all this recently. If you go for a sex change, you could half the premium :I

If he has a sex change does that mean he won't be a Willy anymore?

If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

Due to a recent court case, they are not allowed to differentiate between male and female. This will not bring the cost for males down, it will just push up the cost for females!

It's the same with pensions - for an equal pot males used to get higher monthly payments as statistically they do not live as long to claim the money. Now that discrimination (even based on statistics) isn't allowed, guess what happened? Male payments dropped

Looks like Will's willy is safe for now then!

You've all due for a long overdue update, I haven't been able to get on here much recently, what with my GCSE's, now they are nearly finished work my recommence. :D:D

I still don't know what I am going to do about insuring Smurf ( might have to sell her :(:([xx(][xx(][xx(][V][V][V][V][V] ) but I am not going to let that get in the way of my enjoyment this summer.

Were taking her upto wales this August bank holiday.:D:D[8D][8D][8D] . we'll be in convoy with my brother Morris Minor which is pretty cool if you ask me ;).

Anyway me and Dad managed to use it in easter getting a couple of days away to the West Somerset Railway, the van was pretty loud the whole way there and I could tell something was up, she still managed to get us there and back safely.

On inspection the exhaust had fractured at the manifold, no longer providing a good seal, luckily at Beaulieu auto jumble I picked up a new one for £60, Its a bog standard jobbie and will do the job for now.

Smurf also leaked Oil from the back of the gearbox, after some maths I worked out it wouldn't make it to wales on one fill of gearbox oil [xx(], something had to be done. After careful removal of the prop shaft it was noted that the UJ needed replacement, there was a ridiculous amount of play in it. I also measured the propshaft against the measurments somewhere on the forum. It was about 10mm to short.[:0] The simple solution was to order a prop shaft spacer which I am awaiting delivery of. I also polished up the propshaft end removing the groves and scores in it, hopefully now it won't leak.

I am awaiting the delivery of the seal, UJ parts and the propshaft spacer then she'll be back on the road. :D:D .

I will keep you posted.

Right shes ready to go, shame the weathers so S!*t.

With regard to insurance I think putting my dad and mum as named drivers will lower the quote, we shall see nearer the time.

Well I am reporting to you from a very rainy cornwall, and no unfortuantly we didn't take the camper we pansied it in a Cottage, the camper isn't quite ready to go yet as I am trying to cure the rear gearbox oil leak. I have been looking around for quotes and they have now jumped up to the £2500 mark, which is what I paid for smurf, paying that amount is completley unrealistic for me. So I have basicly resigned myself to the fact that she'll have to go after our August bank holiday trip to North wales.

The current plan is to re invest the money from selling smurf into a Commer for restoration, by the time its done I'll be able to afford the insurance :). It really isn't the way I'd like to be doing things but it is a real shame to see her unused.

If anyone is interest in buying her please send me a Email, it would be good to get an Idea of interest.

I'd love to hear from anyone with a camper for restoration too.
