s.u inlet manifold

Ok Tim thanks for that, so it's just the different types of carb, I don't know what carb Lulu has but no doubt you will be able to tell by looking at the pictures that I've been posting from Woolfy.
I suppose it shows my knowledge of mechanics but then it's everyman to his own trade and I was a brilliant fireman which isn't much good when you buy a classic vehicle. The best I can do is use a wanner grease gun and even that now I would be struggling to crawl underneath. The reason I asked in the first place was in case I decide to get a better carb, but then I'll drive down to your place and get you to make and fit.;););)

Les, they all have 3 holes, one is for a vacuum take off, 2 hold the throttle cable bracket. None are needed with an SU so i used to weld them up, but now i just put bolts in the holes :)

For the benefit of those fitting SU carbs, this is what i do.

Extend the arm by 2", weld a bit of angle on the chassis, dirlled for a cable adjuster, and a 4ft cable. :)

At last a definitive answer to the problem[^]
Not sure how long the universal push bike cables are from Halfords, as I've cut them down when I've used them, but they are only £3 and the original cable adjusters fit perfectly:)

It's not perfect, but it works ok. Makes the pedal a little heavier, but that could be overcome by doglegging it for more leverage.
I've found that pit bike throttle cables are about right and come in various lengths, plus they have a 90 degree adjuster which helps at the carb end. A bit of cutting and trimming and it's good. :)

Thanks Tim.

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.

The kit is getting more comprehensive I see[8D]

Yep, trying to make it easier for people, just got to make an airbox now :)

Now doing optional extras. Proper stub stack gives around 7% more airflow, and an airbox that takes a K&N filter, or a flexi pipe so you can put the filter in front the radiator in the cooler air :)

My stub stack made a noticeable difference to my mini. Su much so it had to go back on the rolling road to richen the mixture a little.
