yeh quite possible but i think the axle should
be ok for the job. diff not a problem as i'll just
raise the floor section a little above that.

Oooooooooooooooooo that's low[}:)]
You may end up notching the chasis legs:I

Summer's here.....
So they say

I think you will need to raise it a little, Swampsters van was done like this at one point - just flipping the axle is a BIG drop, the guy who did it cut a hole in the floor for the diff and re-shaped the chasis to clear the axle, Gary couldn't live with it (speed humps and bad ride) so he had it raised again:I

To avoid any confusion here, flipping the axle does NOT mean turning it upside down............................unless you want 4 reverse gears :D

Sunny citrus and bob autosleeper all have had the axle flipped and my old autosleeper had it done as well had no issues at all drove ok no problems with mot ! But I would find another way of making the leafspring stiffer (not welding them ) you can get leaf springs made !

ok mate, cheers for that.:D

i can only assume trying to think logically,( rare ! )
you have to take the diff out and turn it 180 ?

if thats the case, you could then turn the prop part
of the diff that unbolts 180 too so that it make the
filler bung back at the top ?

sorry if i sound thick, but ive never done this before.[)]

Oops, sorry:I I'm a past master at stick wrong end getting[8)]
Couldn't get my head around it at first but then did an experiment with a cardboard tube - guess what? Tims right, unusually for him;)
I think I'd better stop giving advice on lowering[xx(]

Flipping the axle means putting it on top of the springs instead of under them. Why they call it "flipping" who knows [:0]

so basically then, what im allready having done to the axle at
the moment is flipping, not turning the 'flipping' thing over ? !!

carry on regardless ! :p:D

not got a great deal done at the mo,still waiting for
the back axle to be finished, plus get the front springs
heated and levelled off as ive cut them down 2 coils :D

although i did pick up my motivation,( in both sense of the word )
for the van.

another win on ebay, low milage from a p6.
got to wait until the van's back on its wheels and i
can make a start on squeezing it in !! [:0] :D

oh yeh !! :D

had a quick measure up and there wont be much of a
prop shaft, although its hard to tell at the mo due
to no rear axle in there, plus the front chassis
crossmember that has the handbrake linkage attached to it,
will have to be taken out, but looking at admins setup,
i'll do the same and make a crossmember with engine mounts
attached.:)
