PEGGY

Of course she's tax exempt - I don't buy classics that aren't.

MOT passed with just a couple of minor advisories - only 1,300 miles since the last one. She's a good girl.

Way to go, Baz:D:D:D;););)well done indeed!!
Had quite a long chat with Graham Anderson on friday, loads of interesting things in the pipeline for the imp club[^][^][^].
Looks like we'll have to get bigger diaries and more holidays:p:p;);)

Well done Baz. Wish I could get Babs through the MOT, but since I only have 3 cylinders - it ain't going to happen. Got to finish chopping the Triumph and sort the Imp van, and then the MGF first :)

Time for an update. Went to start Peggy and her battery is flat as the proverbial, so it's on charge. The clutch pedal feels very 'light' so may have issues when I do start her. Was going to take her out tonight to the Imp Club meeting (Imp's starter playing up) but looks like I'll be in the modern.

OK, jump started Peggy earlier this afternoon and left her running for about 30 mins to warm up and charge the battery. Then switched off and put her in gear and re-started - no joy. Unfortunately, where she is parked makes getting her rolling very difficult. Also, having sat idling for a while the old fuel evaporation issue came up so she wouldn't start again anyway. Aarrghhh!!!!!!

That ^^^^ was about an hour ago. Just went out and she started first time. Clutch down, engage gear (no crunching) clutch up and she's off! The heat of the engine must have released the clutch. Took her for a quick drive and she seems fine. Tomorrow I'll treat her to a tank of fuel and some air in the tyres. I'll make sure she gets some regular use before WCW. Now to sort out the Imp!

Summer's Coming.....
Trust me

Me too. But she was idling at fast tickover for a good 30 mins so it must've been very hot under the engine cover.

Bugger!!!! It seems the clutch is at fault after all, well the hydraulics anyway. Started her up this morning to get fuel and air, took a bit of pumping of the clutch to get her into gear. Got round the corner to the petrol station and filled her up. Went to take her to the air pump and couldn't engage gears with the engine running. Pedal now very light and no end of pumping helped. No option but to start her in gear and limp home in 1st gear. Then had to restart in reverse and put her back in her parking spot next to the Imp without hitting it or the neighbour's garage - not easy with no clutch!
Tomorrow afternoon I hope to ascertain whether it's the slave or master at fault then order new parts.

Spending tomorrow morning with the builder discussing plans for my garage then I'll get under her and have a look.
