Took Peggy for a run out to Andy's workshop to help him with Babs yesterday. She started and ran with no problems. I did notice that she was nearly out of fuel though but thought she'd make it back home OK. The needle very quickly went to E as I made my way home. So no max speed runs this time, it was all about economy. And she did it! The cheap petrol station is downhill from home so I'll fill her up tomorrow ready for Friday.
This morning I decided to check if the fridge was working. I hooked up the 240v supply and it worked fine. The 12v supply needed a cigarette lighter socket nearby, which I didn't have so I've extended the cable. Didn't get a chance to check it though as I didn't want to run the leisure battery down too much, The run up to Commerland should show if it works.
I also lubricated the sliding cupboards as they were sticking a fair bit and fitted a new switch for the outside light which now works!
So, looking good for Friday.
One thing is bothering me though. Peggy's gearchange is playing up. It's hard to get the lever into the 1st and 2nd plane. This started to happen once I started using her a bit and has got slightly worse.
Is this likely to be a case of adjustment? If so, is it something that can be done say, in the middle of a field in Yorkshire?

It's probably play in the linkage, someone is supposed to be makeing me some new bushes, to take out the slack, but they havn't arrived yet [?]

There is more than one linkage in the contortionist route from lever to box. If its the final slip linkage into the back of the box then its easy to adjust in a field, and does make quite a bit of difference.

On Monday morning Martin put Peggy up on the ramp and adjusted the linkage to give her four selectable gears again. One slight hiccup meant she no longer had a functioning overdrive but another fettling session got that sorted - Thanks Martin!
Other than that Peggy performed faultlessly over the weekend returning an overall 25 mpg. The only issue, and a relatively minor one, is that with the heater tap seized in the on position it did get quite warm even with the windows open. So today I fitted a new 'tap' into the heater hose so I can now switch off the heat!
I also found some spare gauges including Oil press, oil temp and vacuum. I connected the vac gauge to the manifold and it works nicely - so when I get around to it I'll be fitting it to the dash along with the oil pressure gauge and a tacho.

Hi Rupert, sorry for the delay!
Peggy's inlet manifold has a small vac take-off near the dip stick end which the tube just pushes onto. Windscreen washer type tube will do as that is what is on the gauge at the moment.

Peggy and I have just got back from a 5 day/4 night trip to the 11th annual Wicked Welsh Weekend with The Imp Club. She performed faultlessly and returned an overall 24mpg which I'm happy with as we were doing 60-65mph on the motorway and going for max speed whenever possible!
Managed to get her up to a max of 77.6mph! 1.6mph more than my previous best![8D]
