PEGGY

Is that all?

Fitted the piano hinge this afternoon, sweated gallons working in the confines of Peggy. The hinge is a single 1.8m long one rather than the original 3 x 35cm ones so it should hopefully be much stronger and longer lasting - especially with a total of 60 screws fixing it in!

Might have a look at the spot-lights later after I've cooled down a bit.

Demolished and burned the old shed yesterday and today I 'prepared' the area it sat in so Peggy can parked there. Now have Peggy and the Imp side-by-side instead of in-line partly on the grass.

Didn't get time to look at the spotlights so that's a job for another day.

The anti-social hours come with the job so no extra cash there. Cops working Mon-Fri 9-5 in an office get the same money. It's the overtime that helps with these things and understandably there's notmuch of that about for the forseeable future.

Overtime budgets have been slashed to help pay for the financial mismanagement of the banks and Labour government.

Took Peggy to Snetterton today to watch her cousins (Imps) racing. She ran trouble-free all the way there and back. Stopped for cash on the way and for fuel on the way back and there were no hot-starting problems, good girl!

The weather was better than forecast all day but on the way home we met some heavy rain which after about an hour started to find its way into the cabin via the windscreen seal and also from the removable panel that covers the wiper motor (I expect the rotten peak was letting it through), naughty girl!

Oh yeah, on one downhill stretch of the A1(M) I saw 76mph on the satnav, good girl!

Fuel? Damn she's a thirsty girl!

Forgot to get any pics of Peggy unfortunately, naughty me!

One of the Impers there told me he has bought a Commer camper in Devon and will be restoring it in due course. He does not do the internet but was made aware of this forum by the previous owner. He also knows about Woolfy and Martin and is already talking about using some Holbay stuff to pep it up a bit!

Cheers Mark!
No repairs I'm afraid, getting the garage built comes before any major jobs on the fleet. Liberal amounts of silicone and gaffer tape will have to suffice for now.

76mph, although I'm sure she could reach 80mph with the right conditions and a better tuned engine.

I think I'll have to check Harvey with the sat-nav and see what I get:p
Before the mods max was 65 foot to the floor on a level road, 76 from a Highwayman is nothing short of miraculous [8D]

76 mph [:0] Isn't that exceeding the national speed limit! ;)

Shouldn't you be setting a good example for the rest of us to follow! :D

76mph, maybe we should organise a drag race at Commerfest a la top gear:p:p Still trying to work out what is thirsty by Commer standards:I I have established that once the fuel gauge is just under 1/4 it is empty;) (well under 1L it appears. I am investing in a bigish petrol can for those motorway runs:p

ACPO guidleines for prosecution are speed limit (70) + 10% (77) + 2 = 79mph. ;)
