We had Peggy back up on the ramps today.
Drained the gearbox and removed the solenoid. It was moving when connected to a battery but not by much. After a bit of shake, rattle and roll plus some more energising with the battery and it seemed to be moving a tad more and slightly more 'vigorously.
We removed the base plate and cleaned out the mesh filter (which was pretty clean anyway). Didn't have the right tools to remove the other filter and relief valve so left them in place. Put it all back together and re-filled with oil - still didn't work on the way home so I think I'll call Speedy's tomorrow for a new solenoid.
Also fitted the electric fuel pump and wired it up ready for the big switcheroo from mechanical to electric power. Unfortunately I underestimated the amount of hose I'd need for plumbing the rear end so will have to get some more for the front section.
Took some pics as well:
Peggy on the ramps - new plates:
Rotten door bottoms - new panels from Woolfy await:
Peggy used to be burgundy which is really handy because that's what I want her to be again!
Front suspension:
Rusty f/n/s valance - o/s is OK:
Tank looks OK:
Rear corners will need a rub down and re-paint:
Mounted fuel pump on inside of the unused no plate recess:
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?
