My new ride

Hey Paul great to hear you've not forgotten to remember. Rust - you must be seeing things:I

Summer's here.....
Told you

Haha i really wish i was seeing things... That peak drives me mental! However a mini rear valance has certainly made a good donor for the corners :)

I have been wondering about cutting out my twin indicator/sidelight setup, and cutting them up to make a single indicator (like the earlier ones), as i will be running sidelights within my headlights anyway. What do you reckon?

With the intention of getting a decent afternoons welding in, i was rather disapointed to find my gas bottle empty :I i think i have been building too many exhausts for people! Managed to tack in a piece (gasless) so at least thats ready to weld in when i collect a new bottle

Hoping to get the front welded up and skims of filler this week before i go on holiday (perhaps even a coat of primer), then when i return i can sort out the sides :)

Suprised to find this in such good order:

After trying to find a way to afford a nice new lower valance, i realised that i just can't afford it right now and so i cracked on with an attempt to make my own.

Bottoms a bit wonky, but i shall try and correct that as much as possible but i think that should do well enough with a light skim of filler in places just to get the curvature nice and even :) Its far harder than i thought it was going to be to build, but with some more effort it should be worth it!

More metal has found its way on :)

Hoping i can finish that tomorrow evening, getting closer and closer to having the front finished! Just a few bits of the lower fluting, A pillars (passenger side is nearly done, just needs a little more work) and the roof to go (started but avoided as much as possible since!)

I like you methodical approach, much neater than my efforts:I

So they say

Your efforts are inspirational! I have stolen quite a bit of knowledge from your thread!

On another note, i am purchasing an air fed mask so i can spray 2k paint and have a bay of another building ready for some form of spray booth. Got 2 VW T25s and a Pug 306 to practive on before the Commer!

I used to have a type 25 :D
pic's :D[}:)]:D

Thanks for the encouragement you lot!

This is the first T25 (actually called a T3 strictly speaking, the VW lot get ****ty when you refer to it as a T25) i am getting ready for paint:

Some light welding to be done, but generally quite a solid old thing!

This is my T25 Doka:

1.9 petrol, 55k full VW service history (massive folder full of receipts). I have a golf mk3 with a diesel engine ready for a conversion. Doka is a little on the rusty side and the rear panels arent available for it so some hammering/mashing up van panels is required!

Other valance half in, and most of its seam welded and ground back. Got a little bored of it tonight so finished early!

Off on holiday for a few weeks on tuesday, so no updates until i am back :(

Well unfortunately the 2 campers are not mine, and the pick up i got for a bargain price on the promise to the original owner that i would restore it and use it! When i am back from my holiday, i shall be scrapping 4 old cars that i have been breaking and selling off some other stuff to fund some fresh metal for the Commer (inner peak, fluted side panels and i am having some sills/roof sections made up locally).
