Fitted the windows with loverly thick window seals...cheers Mr M! Fitted the doors back on the van and the b*ggers fit! I will need some new door seals though. The water ingress wrecked the rear cupboard, so had to make a new one. I was very careful that I ensured that the door gaps were wonky for authenticity! I also modded the cupboard shelves so that bottles of wine and spirits fitted!
I had a engine tinker session including fitting twin choke cable non of the expensive tr6 twin choke cable, I used bicycle brake parts which cost me a fiver!

New cupboards with mod for the missus
The curtains that came with the van were quite thin, and I have been hunting for some retro material for months now. It is all quite expensive and we were looking at £100 for the material. Then the material in the pic below came up on ebay...7 metres for £9.99..perfect. I know it's vile but we think it suits ther age of the van!!!! lol
A quick pic of the twin choke set up...It needed adjusting after the pic was taken as the "saddle" was too close to the adjustment screw so that it was hitting the screw before activating the choke fully. Now all sorted.
She is running V V rich with black smoke and unburnt petrol in the exhaust. I have ordered the stomberg adjustment tool so I can rectify this....Here comes summer.

A thouroughly enjoyable weekend of spannering after doing body work for a while. Balanced the carbs and adjusted the mixture. The recap still drop when you lift the carb piston...any thoughts. I have also managed to make a steel box (plenum?) That attatches the carbs to the air filter...will post pics when I can.

Blummin predictive text! The revs still drop when the carb piston is lifted suggesting a weak mixture, even when richened as much as I can adjust.
Good and cheap starting point! Cheers, they look ok are are not old and brittle. Who knows
I know Bazz. I did try twin hifs38's but they were turning into a nightmare, to set up. So they are on the back burner.

I am getting lots of use out of the metal folder!!!!
The air filter is just sited there temporarily, I have welded a round flange (old cake cutter) cut the metal box. Future plans are to find a way of routing some pipe work so that the filter can be sited in front of the rad. Another option could be to deflect cold air from in front of the rad to the air filter.
Also, I have suspected that the temp gauge is not reading correct,and was assured by a garage that it was. To ease my mind I did a quick swap with one of the minis today....and lo and behold the new gauge and sender read hotter than the old ones and actually get to the middle of the gauge...it's not as if the temperature is important!!!!! lol
ALso, I had run out of pink paint, and thought that the yellow would reflect heat better than the other paint I had available.....satin black lol
