My New Baby!!!

Not into the rafters no, I had the box open side down on the work bench!!!!
I have ordered the steel bar in both sizes to prevent this happening when I do this "for real" I did loose one of the little "blocker bars" though!!! FFS Pinged off down the garage over the mini and into the snow.
Cheers Panky for the clarification.
I have put 12v through the solenoid on the O/D unit and it clicks, so I am guessing that that is good news. Also took the filter out for a clean up, nothing untoward there.

I'm sure you'll find it come the thaw:I
Looking and sounding good so far.

Do you have a design for the gearbox mount? Is there a design doing the rounds that includes some kind of vibration suppressing device?

I made mine out of an old beadstead, used the original rubber mounts - not bed springs:)

Having been searching through the BOTG thread, finally found the bit about the converted bedstead. That was a lot of searching. Guess what I have in mind? Still got an overdrive gearbox going spare.

I think I've still got a bit of bedstead left if you want to make a Panky original;)

Overdrive not fitted yet, waiting on a propshaft and gearbox. Will be running the current set up till the other is ready. I have lots of box section for the.mount and am planning on using the rubber donuts that are on the van.

Phew, 34:I

Is it MOT time again? That year went quick! Took the van for a tune up in October. The garage never tuned it, but did tell me I had a bearing issue with the front wheels...still don't know why they checked this lol. Got round to sorting this. And the cause was scary! No split pin on the big hub nut and the nut was finger tight. Check your nuts chaps!

hi nick i remember a lot of what your going thru, these old commers are like kids they get worse and more expensive as they get older but you cant help but love them. hope to get ours on the road this month and hope to yours soon

I am putting off the MOT as usual, was gonna do it this week but spent the whole week away from home with work, driving round the centre of London is fun!!!
Anyway, I must have been watching too much Chip Foose because I never liked the front bumper on the commer, the fit was awful and it always looked wonky...so I foosed it
Today I fixed this, cut some notches in the bumper with a thin disc and shaped the bumper so that it resembles the vehicle it was meant to fit. Whilst I was there I smoothed the whole thing off, did some lead loading on it, painted it up,shortened the fixing brackets and fitted. I am happy with the results, subtle but a lot better fit
