Meet Ted

I wanted to add high level brake lights and was going to make brackets to for them behind the rear door glass, but then I had a thunk and a fiddle and came up with a plan.

Original rear reflectors

The LED lights I bought just happened to fit nicely in the holders

All wired in

They're a bit less orangey in reality

I also made a blanking cover for the under floor space to finish off the rear load space
The eagle eyed amongst you will notice a wonky rear view mirror - it's the grotty original one as I still haven't found the new one:rolleyes:

I had to do a repair to the passenger door corner where it caught on something when I slammed the door:mad: All fixed now just needs a bit of paint and that's about it - almost job done:cool:

I've been in the garage sweating and checking - found a few loose nuts on the suspension I'd left to the last as they needed the weight of the car on them before final tightening. Hub caps on, wing mirrors on, fuel line connected and a gallon sloshed into the tank (the gauge works :)) switched on - the newly overhauled pump clattered away until it drew petrol and filled the float chamber then settled to the occasional click, ignition he and started first go:cool:
I'm not sure if I'll have time to dig him out as we're away at the weekend a Bonnie needs a coat of looking at before we set off. Something to look forward to when we get back:)

Its taken a little longer than I expected what with camping and Moffat then coming down with a lurgy (not Covid thank goodness) but he's finally out and enjoying himself - Ted as well as me :D

Blinking in the daylight

A few to shift before he emerges

And finally out in the sunshine

A couple of tweaks needed but very happy with the result :D

Barb caught him as I pulled away for a quick test drive

Then I was papped by my daughter up the road. Blink and you'll miss him :D

The wanderer returns

You're next Harvey

I think you can be rightly proud of what you have achieved, Ted looks and sounds fantastic.
What are the plans for Harvey?

Thanks Chris, the Renault is looking pretty damn fine too:cool:

Harvey will be getting new inner and outer steps, door bottom repair, fluted panels need a bit of TLC as do many other little bits and pieces - oh and a bare metal re-spray. Should be done in a couple of weekends :)
