Nice idea. Hope it (and trust it will) works...

Me tooThanks. I'm sure it will.
That's interesting.. I've got a warning light and switch but I may look into that at some point. ThanksThe electric handbrake in my Fiat has a warning light in the switch which is mounted in the centre console. The handbrake on my XK8 is mounted to the right of the driver's seat like the Commer, but sits down in the horizontal position whether on or off, so remains out of the way when getting in or out. To release it, you lift the lever, depress the button and lower it. To engage it you lift it, release the button and let drop down again. I don't know whether one could be adapted for a Commer.
I cant as the control unit cuts the power at a preset current draw. The light would go outI assume it’s electric switch rather than hydraulic etc? Could you not splice into the wire between switch and ram and make that the +ve feed for lamp? Or a reed switch? Mind you I have no idea how electric hand brakes work
That's another idea that I've mentioned to Bernie. Have a microswitch on it that switches to earth via a warning lightMaybe fit a limit switch that contacts when the brake actuator is extended
Using diodes and an extra pair of change over relays. How did you do it?
