Lilith the V8 racing Spacevan

Early start at it this morning. I bought a universal heater kit. Unfortunately they forgot to send the matrix... at least I have the case, hoses and fan so I can start mounting it. The fan fitted nicely where the original air filter was. Obviously it needs an air feed so I decided to take it from under the passenger seat. A bit of perforated sheet made a decent grille..
Mocked up the matrix housing too.

Got the heater matrix mountings made up, also used it to mount the brake reservoir.
It's all in and the ducts connected up but no matrix yet..
It's a nice little unit.

Still waiting on the postman so I cut the overhead panel out of some 9mm marine ply and made up and painted the storage bin. Just waiting on the navy blue suede to cover it all with.

Making some shoes up at the same time? ;) - just finished covering the main dash panel in leather vinyl - I had painted it and looked great but then got my finger stuck to it with super glue and damaged an area - such an idiot :) decided to just recover the lot and looks really good, quite difficult to get it stretched into the shapes behind the glove box but it got there in the end - just.

Well. I have spent 3 days drawing up, laying out and routing but.. the van has a one off wiring loom! Added additional fuses, relays and switches. Irs also now got the ecu for the new engine ignition hard wired.Had to re route it under the floor and the new loom goes down the B pillar. A few last connections to make after the old engine bay is repainted.
Decided the ebay cooling fan wasnt good enough so I bought a Honda fan that moves way more are even though it is smaller. Just started making a cowling for it and another smaller fan.

That took some doing but it fits nicely. Made up a full shroud for it. I've also ordered a small fan to go in the bottom corner, theres room so the more the merrier.

Just a thought but it might be an idea to put a few holes in you new shroud to encourage some natural air flow while you're on the move rather than what's pushing past the fan.

That's a good point. Should be ok once the second fan is fitted

Well I thought I'd weld up the clutch pedal hole in the floor plate. Turns out the bottom of the plate was rotten so I repaired it. Also started the lower part of the overhead panel.

Got the other fan fitted.
Finished cutting the lower panel of the overhead console. Really pleased with how it turned out.. had to shape it to clear the wiper motor.
