Ian, congratulations on your new van! ........I do not hold it against you whatsoever. I have said it all in above posts...........still mega furious with the seller though...
I doubt another will ever come along that would of fitted my ideal so perfectly, but thats life and certainly not your fault!

It just fitted, and felt right. I've been after one for over a year, and have trekked across the country looking at different ones, but none ticked all my boxes.
My criteria was, tax exempt, 4 birth, in fairly original condition, on the road or at least not needing masses to get it on the road. To be honest i was starting to loose hope, the last couple I looked at needed a lot of work, or were at dealers for mega money. My kids are getting older and I didn't want to wait till next summer to start creating memories, so I thought this was probably my last opportunity this year.
Yes it needs work, but what 50 year old doesn't. The hand paint job didn't put me off, its solid colour. It has a certain retro camping charm, a few personal touches, feels like at some point in its life its been a loved member of the family.
The big thing was getting my Mrs on board, she's doesn't quite share my classic car obsessions, so it needed to meet with her approval. This did, the interior isn't perfect but tidy and up together. i think it appealed to her female 'nesting' instinct. when she started discussing how she could make new curtains and some matching cushions I knew I had her approval. The kids also loved it, and I think it's that enthusiasm from them that clinched me the deal!
Whats the plan? well come the weekend its operation carb/clutch/exhaust. I want to use it over the summer, then will look at sorting the cills and door over the winter.

I bid up to £4000 but would probably have gone to £6000 but then it just disappeared I wonder what it would have gone up to
if tadhoarder hadn't bought her. Anyway that's beside the point. Have you given her a name yet tadhoarder as they don't like being nameless or even worse being called 'elsewhere'
