Dolly The Autosleeper

All the chassis parts are inverted 'top hat' sections with a closing plate on the top, once you get one off you will see how simple they are. I just used the angle iron as hard jaws on the edges of the workmate to get nice sharp bends on the metal as I folded it.

ah, cool. maybe i'll have a go at that then, may save me a bomb. what guauge steal did you use? i take it you just clamped it then pushed it over and tapped it with a hammer till it was a sharp corner? not looking forward to trying to drill out the spot welds lol, first time i have done anything this complicated lol

1.5mm I think, it's thicker than the original. Yes nothing subtle just brute force and ignorance - and a big hammer:)
My advice is to buy a proper spot weld remover drill, so much easier than using an ordinary drill - £8 from Screwfix[^]

No Workmate here, so made ours like this, 2"x2" angle and a lump hammer;)

cheers mark:D, im pretty proud i:I got a fair bit to learn about bodywork but i can be good with tools when i want to [^] lol and i quite inventive to lol. ive got to check my fuel sender next:). problem is it doesnt move, so i have no idea if how much fuel is in it[B)]. banging the tank it sounds almost empty so im hoping its just to low to register lol i have changed the terminal on the sender but made no differance. may have to pull it out and try moving the float manually to see if the guage moves[^]

To be safe the tank will need to come out to do the spring hangers anyway.

yh im planning on taking it out and cleaning/painting it up. thats why i want to take out the sender and check it, i could just put fuel in and see what happens but if i do that i will just have to drain it all out again lol
