If you're going to the trouble of gearbox out etc I would bite the bullet and replace all three components, release bearing, pressure plate and cover. You really don't want to be doing it all again in a few months time!

From Speedys "K227 Clutch Kit ( 3 parts ) Deposit £20 £60.00".

Duke is one gorgeous Commer, I bet you can't wait to get back out in him. Any clutch drama isn't the end of the world, so you'll be on the road soon for sure.

Adam, i have been climbing the walls mate. I absolutely cannot wait to get out again. It's been off the road since October:-(

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!

i'd go for new if you can afford it mate, rather than Speedys which as Bazz pointed out is £60 plus £20 deposit...that is then plus vat plus postage

get it from Martin Maltas his are just £60 plus postage...includes vat and no deposit to pay :D:D

Pull your finger out boy!! :D Definitely worth getting all 3 components like Baz said. I got my clutch from Speedys and it's OK, but I'm not too keen on the way the revs drop a bit when I dip the clutch (anyone else get this???) - not sure if the release bearing/block is all that special, so probably worth buying new from Martin.

we are getting organized just not quick enough it could be some time before my friction plate turns up Steve sold it when he came to the meet in his commer truck full of parts I bought 3 so you would still need the other parts,I don't have them! give Martin a shout ;)

you could tell martin I have one friction plate if I can find it! but if he only sells the kit & not separately,a kit it will have to be ;)

Rang garage today and he was umming and arring to be honest??? I get the feeling he don't want the job? He said he would take a look on the drive to see if it would be worth his time as he could probably make more money on smaller jobs??? T@at either wants work or he doesn't. Thing is we are only a small village as you know Tim, it's not as though he has work commering out his earholes is it?
Has anybody ever come accross an answer like that before???

Maybe it's because i mentioned that i would supply the parts and he can't make any extra cash on mark up? Who knows!
I told him the whole story, not leaving anything out and asked how much he thought and his reply was " It could be a number of things" Yeah...................Clutch plate, thrust bearing, etc etc HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Give me a bleeding quote winkle for crying out loud!

Will ring another garage tomorrow with hopefully a more defined result! Garages................!
