Clutch Re-Fitting Step by Step Walkthrough!

it's quite a big job Scott for novices like you and I

I could type up relevant parts of the manual if you like. I could try and explain how I did mine in detail, but I doubt you would understand my terminology ...eg; undo the silver clutch thingy from the gearbox LOL


 
Hang on Scott, we'll sort someting out between us. Let the garage put it back together once all the bits are on the floor;)

Defo gone and fu@ked it up now:( went back out to try and re-bleed the damn thing and now i reckon i have more air in the system than before. Reason i tried again was because i noticed that the push rod was only moving a few centimeters and by looking at it, looked like it should move more than that?

I pushed the rod in by hand and could see through the housing that the thrust bearing was moving much more than when the pedal was depressed! ( Is this possible to see the bearing through the housing even[?])

So with this now in mind, have i buggered things up too badly? I have VERY little movement in the fork now:( i have almost no hair left to pull out now, i may have to start on the wifes!!!

Oh dear! whether or not you can see the thrust bearing depends if you have the slash guard fitted. I think you would know if you can see it or not! Is the thrust bearing a roller bearing type or solid carbon type? (solid a bit like the material brake pads are made with)

If its the roller type, does it spin freely?

If you want I can ring you for further advise on bleeding if you are not sure...


 
I doubt you,ve done any serious damage, its sounding like the problem is not with the clutch itself, but could well be the master cylinder seals are letting by pressure.
I have to go to spalding soon, so could be persuaded to call in for the price of fuel + a big cake :p
