What are the brakes doing - not doing[?]
Glyn (my other half) just sorted mine because they were snatching badly after using the handbrake[xx(]
 
when I first apply brakes almost nothing foot goes down,apply again get harder then again really hard,fluid is going down a cm or so every day or 2.handbrake lever was dodgy(get it :D)lol,sorry!when I got "Ran"but yesterday after I had parked realised I hadn't parked far enough forward so opened the door up without getting in the van! [:0] didn't make it's normal noise,had trouble,had to put my right foot on foot brake,chucked her in gear,left foot still on the ground lol,wacked the handbrake & pulled it up!ummm off to stappletons for a frreee health check [^]purely as Tim is so busy at the moment,if I can tell him exactly what she needs he will get on with it quicker,bless him,is this what our men folk are for :)
 
Oh dear:(, hope fluid leak is nothing too hard to find and something that doesn't involve miles of replacement brake pipe.
Had a pipe partially split on my car once on top of a mountain - so was same symptoms, managed to nurse it all the way back home going VERY slowly and using gears and just as I was parking up outside my parents house - the pipe blew out completely and my car rolled very gently into the back of my Dads! [:0] boy was I glad it held til then
 
been to stappletons,the nice young man,about 17-18 said cor I have always wanted to drive one of these!thought he was going to tare off down the road!any way said he couldn't find any leaks,but possably oil from my leaky hub seal getting on the brake shoes causing it to slip...how likely? do we think this is possible? obviously will get Tim to have a look and will bleed the brakes again!what do you think any one?
 
Glyn was saying that if you have a brake servo then fluid can be leaking into servo tank and then engine burning it off, so wouldn't be a visible leak. Must be leaking fluid to be losing it that quickly. If you have a servo then you'd need to get servo off and check.

If your little lad is definitely right that there aren't any visible leaks, servo is the only option Glyn could think of (if it has one)

If you are loosing fluid then there must be a leak in the system, not just a bearing seal. I think best to check around the master cylinder fist cos it's the easiest, pull back the dust seal to see if any fluid comes out. Then have a look at the rear cylinders as you've alredy replaced front.
 
master cylinder is ok,rear cylinder is leaking,but can understand why the young man at stapletons missed it [:0]great advise thank you.Martins lending me one.

brake cylinder arrived this morning,fitted this evening [^]didn't leak all over rear brake shoes [8D] thank goodness for small mercys :D....just the steering to sort out [V]
 
saw this and thought of "Rans" wardrobe door,so bought it,have to test drive and do another brake check,so that should test if this has cured the door swinging action from the wardrobe door

Don't have key for lock so fitted this after one too many cupboard ejector sessions on corners smashed my retro 70s cassette holder.:I

Simple and effective. I have got the key but locking it still didn't stop the door from swinging open. Another one of those little problems to sort out once the big ones have been fixed :I
