Chris's new ride

33.18 litres (cost 31.82)didn't think it held 9 gallons ??looks like I will have to empty the tank & start again :I

we must have a bloody good engine in charlie cos on the way home from collecting him i managed 30 to the gallon, i know this cos it was on fumes when i picked it up, then filled it,then ran out of fuel and had to be towed but worked well to calculate,it isnt running lean according to mot sheet and it has that hossing gurt body to pierce thru the wind, this was an average of 55 miles an hour

That is very good, the best I ever got from my first van was 30 and that was on a strict economy drive averaging about 40 mph.

65 down the lanes[:0] I can't look[|)]

Sounds like the new bean tin working wonders, how's No 1 these days - you mentioned attacking the front end the other day, any survivors?

no more progress on no.1 too much other stuff going on,tyres keep going flat so have to get out regularly & pump up [)] some paint still hasn't turned up,so don't want to attack untill can paint, have a slight problem with Ran in that whilst driving last week a lorry was getting a bit close behind me [xx(] my daughter was in the back & I said to her how close is that lorry,by the time she had looked I think he had already tapped into back end [V]....did not realize untill yesterday whilst cleaning he has actualy damaged her so not sure what to do,I didn't get his no plate [:0]will post a pic of damage.

[:(!][:(!][:(!][V]That's gutting news - not a lot you can do if no number plate - if he was that close you wouldn't have been able to see it anyway (unless it came off and is stuck on the back of Ran[V] You may be able to report to police if you know what company he/she drove for and time they clouted you. Damage photos definitely a good idea.

If we ever find out who it was, he'll have a load of angry commers chasing him (or attempting to chase him anyway) made me really mad[:(!]

Shame that there are so many good truckers out there but it's the wassocks like that give lorries a bad name[B)][:(!]

Hope damage superficial, glad you're all o.k.

RANt over, good to see info arriving on the website - it's getting exciting:p, look forward to pics and details of No1 there and No3 under new management

thanks studio, that link doesn't work :( try this one http://www.commervanfan.co.uk/commerchris.html why do I see lots of little red x's on the website [?]

Hi Martin, the hose was too short just so you know the other one has been tightened & seems ok so not to worry. steering part has been fitted & is much better now...any tips for removing the old striker plate it is in two parts, centre has broken off! but those screws won't budge they turn freely but can't get to the underneath [?]

Screws are set into spot welded holders above the numberplate. Probably easier to drill them out and use nuts and bolts. [}:)]

don't think I am ignoring you guy's my computer crashed after having electric meter changed, just trying to make Tims work properly [xx(]having probs with aol settings & web browser settings hope all is ok on screen he he cor taking ages [V]

have had a little Ran time today....to find both sides front steering need bushes in king pins!!!got them just need Tim time for fitting, also passenger side brake shoes are cracked,Tim thinks because they have got so hot!
I topped up with engine oil,the cap was all milky!! loosing oil from gear box/engine & axle also hub seals one had gone when I got her,so will be trying to get her sorted too, slowly but surely! not driving like a bat out of hell while she is poorly, feels a little unstable above 45 [:0] stop laughing Nath [}:)]
