I am not a person, I am a number, 395 actually......Be seeing you!
If I told you I was a pathological liar, would you believe me?

Had a complaint regarding a tank, so i am just bringing it to everyones attention.
It seems that a sender unit rubber seal has failed when the tank was brimmed.
There is very few out there with this seal, as the vast majority use a cork seal.
But if anyone is concerned, feel free to talk to me.
Can i also remind people DO NOT OVERFILL the tank.
Sorry about that, but i'm not perfect.

so that's the smell I've had - everyone said they could smell petrol when close to the van I've replaced and reset everything I could see - my sense of smells rubbish! What do I need to fix Tim - would gasket sealant work?

Seen pics on FB, doesn't it look like the rim is dented? More like the person fitting it dinged it! If someone is so flappy about safety on a public forum "THINK OF THE CHILDREN" they shouldn't drive a vehicle that would fail a crash test, I mean look at Yori fire from blocked carb, same as my Mk1 fiesta!

Just read that post on FB - to be clear - I've not seen fuel even though I've filled it to the top before, it just smells slightly in my case, I'm not particularly concerned and will drop it to check. Thanks for the heads up Tim.

If you're smelling fuel it would be wise to check Jim. If in doubt, fit a new gasket and use GOOD petrol proof sealant.

Also worth noting, i have come across 3 original tanks which were leaking at the seal, and a similar amount that were leaking due to corrosion.

My tanks a perfect, cork seals fitted without sealant and no issues even though I do brim them if going on a run.

Don't use regular silicon sealant! It reacts with the petrol, expands, goes like gloopy glue and blocks your fuel lines / carb.

Made that mistake before. Ended up replacing the fuel line, pump and carb before realising the cause.

Hello commeracer. Could I ask what the price would be for a water tank? I could be interested in both a water and fuel tank.
Thanks very much.
