A commer with boost

I'm gonna bump this! Got any thing else done? I am thinking of doing something similar in the future. I want a commer with a nice modern diesel lump so I can travel round Europe in it but also use it as a tow car as it would be sweet to take over to the Nurburg with my mini on a trailer. Keep at it!

Well I would love to say ive done loads but with the new business Jon's Autos ive been so busy cant belive how much work ive picked up.Had to go and sort a new bmw mini copper s out today that even the main dealers were scratching there heads at lol,soon fixed it . My midi van is still waiting to have its heart removed and I must get on it soon but my mk2 transit recovery truck has took over now my mk5 150 is finished so im sure its next on the list. If only i could retire now lol

Just goin to blow the dust off this one! I have now removed engine, gearbox and loom from the donor midi van and sent the rest to the scrap yard in the sky! I had a spare hour or so after work yesterday so thought I would make a start on labeling the wiring loom up so I can wire it in to the camper. I removed the loom from the bin bag I had put it in with my wiring diagram in one hand and multi meter in the other.

This engine is fitted with a qssi controller. It stands for quick start silent idle which is quite a complex system that makes the engine run very smooth from first turn of the key at cold start. It's going to take a while to disect the loom and work out where everything goes. It also has a reed sensor fitted to the speedo head that let's tge system know what speed the vehicle is being driven at and controls the glow plugs accordingly!

Little more progress on the new loom spent a few hours on it again but still lots to do!

Another small step tonight managed to strip the dash cluster down remove the speedo along with reed sensor which is needed to make the management side of things all work as they should. I've then cut the clock face out with tin snips, cut the back out of a commer speedo I had then mounted it all in the original clock. I've had to drill the glass face to allow for the trip meter reset button.
