Keep it covered put a rubber on them

Fyi. Just had a google about positive earth battery charging. All batteries are the same and it’s the earth that’s different so connect the charger to battery as you normally would. Your uneasiness may be because When jump starting a vehicle you quite often clamp the negative jump lead to an engine mount or chassis but you mustn’t do that on your van or the world will explode. Basically if crocodile clips always go on battery terminals and not bits of chassis etc you won’t have a problem.
Thanks soupdragon , I was thinking of changing it to an alternater so it would be negative earth , but as touch wood it's running so well I dont want to change anything ,, i even have new parts for the engine but as the saying goes if it ain't broke dont fix it , OFF now for a drive ,,, SUN is Shining here

I imagine you would have to do some re wiring too if you went negative earth. Have you tried bypassing the switch? Lovely day for a drive :)

The Rostyles will fit OK on the rear but the protruding wheel bearing housing on the front hubs is slightly larger than the hole in the Rostyles centre. So the hole either needs making bigger (but then will only fit on the front) or a thin spacer fitted to move the wheel out a bit.

Thanks panky , do I need to drill bolt holes ,and will I need longer studs for the front with spacers

Playing with the idea of putting a sleeping area in the roof when it's up, ,, trying it out using cardboard , it will help with condensation also

It can be run in isolation from the main system but you could always change over from positive to negative earth and remove all the issues. You'll need to research this for yourself as I don't feel confident enough to advise you on that. It's easy if you have a dynamo fitted but if you have a positive earth alternator installed I just don't know.
As said the wheels will either need a spacer on the front or the hole centre opening up.

If you know the power consumption of the radio ie 12watts and if the battery label has the amp hour value you can get a rough idea. So the battery is 12v and if radio is 12w then it consume 1amp (per hour). If the battery is a 100amp/hr then you can use it for 100 hours before the battery is flat.
