Woolfman rides again - in technicolor

hi there ive been thinking about this for quite some time now and i may be interested in selling this camper van as i have found another van to concentrate on which i like better. this van has had some new panels fitted already by myself , which were produced by my own company called coventry commer panels. but the van needs finishing off. if anyone is interested in either buying the van as it is, or maybe would like me to restore it fully for them . you can contact me in person on 07968 634055 to discuss both opptions, just ask for woolfy.;):p
 
mmmmmm ive been thinking a bit on this and need some advice me thinks. ive started work on this quite a while ago and now it has come to a halt for one reason or another. you all by now know about my new venture with the resto buisness, well every time i want a van picking up or dropping off i have to pay for this service, well this van of mine had its pop top lid blown off last year by strong winds and now no longer has one due to it getting smashed up, which means i either try and find another roof, or i do what i said last year ,and fit a panoramic roof to the top of it. eg clear perspex roof. this is where ive been thinking again and need some advie. shall i carry on restoring it the way mentioned above ,or should i go completely and utterly wild and chop off the rear end of the roof all together and turn it into a mean looking pick up truck with a crew cab in the back using the side door. i could then fit a harvey frost crane in the back with a winch and tackle. which means i could pick up my own vans from now on.mmmmmm what do you all thinks to me idea.mmmmmmm.[:0];):p
 
coooooooooooooool :p[^][8D], go for it woolfy, we need a official commer recovery wagon, excellent idea ,be a great advertising tool for you too ;)
might be worth checking out the law side of things on it, like axle loadings/weights and change of use etc, but should be ok :p

not sure really what to put in it , any ideas?. i think it would look really cool though as a break down truck, but like you said id have to uprate the springs ect.:)
 
the chap I got my overdrive from had a recovery truck made out of a highwayman. He sent me some pictures which I can try to scan if you like (they are't great)

can you email me again please panky mate, as i have a few nice pictures of a friends morris j2 van which is a pic up tow truck which i just know you would all love to see. i also have a few more updated pics of basses van.cheers mate.:p;)
 
would it be easy to fit though tim or major mods needed ,plus would it take the weight of another van on the back end.:p
 
well, its certainly strong enough and the coil springs can be uprated if needed :p
as for fitting it you could either bolt or weld it on in its existing subframe and add some link arms, or make a suitable crossmember to bolt it too and weld that on. either way it will need some link rods and a bit of plate/box section welding in, i am sure you would have to strengthen the chassis anyway you do it, so its not really much extra work, and the bonus is a LSD :p

i dont know if you noticed but i was thinking of useing the rear end of the roof and rear corner ect, and just pushing it forward a bit to make the back of the cab again, that way it should be an easier way of mating things up again. what do you think. i also like the way that the roof of that morris j2 swoops down to meet the body work.mmmmm decisions mmmmm.any suggestions anyone,[?]:p

im just in the proccess of altering the drawing, im adding a few wheels ect and penning back in the bottom of the van where the panels are missing. i will email them over to you panky when finished.:p
