When a freshening up goes too far

I had some new cushions made for my van, and then i thought i might just cut a few repair panels. Then i thought "why do all that and not replace the floor, and reface the cabinets, and oh yeah, theres that water pump leak and the van will be parked for freshening soooo....i may as well make a proper air filter, pressure test the radiator, replace the old heater hoses, paint the engine bay ,derust, repair and prime the front floors. Must not forget the doghouse tin looks a little beat, i'd better sandblast those pieces, and repaint them entirely.also while the seats are out i can finally get new foam for them"
Now then, back to the freshening. Remove and refinish the cabinets, and prep to lay the floors down. Up to today i'm now templated and ready to glue the floor in, but first there is a bit of rust repair to do. I am really looking forward to putting back together.

Looking great, it's so satisfying when things start fitting back into place and when the last cushion has been placed - very big smile:).
Very lucky just to find that little bit of rot on the rear corners.

I agree. There is some outer rust in the usual places too but the rest of the floors and body mounts are in nice shape.

I've got to tackle the rust in the rear corners, so i made a panel for one side ,and brought the doghouse tins home. I'm pleased how they turned out.

I was also able to save the good part of what i removed and use it to patch the other side. Tomorrow i can clean it up , make the othe pieces and weld it in.i want to go camping so bad!

Splendid stuff. What’s the bare minimum you need to do before you say ‘sod it’ and chuck a matress, beer and stove in the back and head off for the weekend? :)

Excellent stuff. I like the panel recycling, did something similar with part of an old door bottom panel to repair the fluted sill:)

Floorpan sorted, subfloor patches sorted, floor leveled , walls scrubbed, cleaned and swept 100 times then new marmoleum!! It needs to cure for 72 hours but i am pleased. Pictures dont really do the floor justice.
