Weber Carb

Su carb, shaved head, better filter, bigger exhaust, all new engine components, overdrive - oh and no interior = well over 70mph without breaking a sweat! Not dared to find top speed, country not long enough! I would guess over 80 though...

According to GPS speedo is only about 5% out.

Well...alright then, maybe just a little...
 
Can't stop laughing at some of the speeds thats being claimed, unless of course some of the speedos are calibrated in KPH instead of MPH, We've got 78+and now one that will do over 80 hahahahahahaha
 
Les, get with the program....this is 2012, i had just over 70MPH out of Smurf....not saying it was drama free or easy, but true....and sure with mods added the speedo gets thrown from correct calibration......in Tigger if my speedo reads 25mph, I am in actual fact doing 32mph...according to my sat nav and also by our Toyota Prius.....:D[}:)]:D[8D]

remember I owned one of these over 20 years ago, so the vehicles of today are 20 years older. back then I couldn't get anywhere near the speed claimed by some on here. Why am I reminded of this song. Ignore the video just close your eyes and listen to the lyrics.

And for the record my speedo is in both MPH and KPH

The Commer is basically the same engine and transmission setup as Hunter and i would be dissapointed if it couldnt get over 70. Also most commers are old, run down, out of tune, full of interior and past their performance best. Even twenty years ago. If you cant get over 50 out of it then its bust!
Granted a head wind or any hill will kill the speed instantly. Lucky here with long straight highways nearby.

Well...alright then, maybe just a little...

M4, albeit downhill. Only on the back of the AA truck once and that was limited to 65!

I don't know why I even bother. I've been insulted in worse places than this tha' knows. I spend hours trying to educate you bums in the finer points of life and this is all the thanks that I get.
