Tyre size

Be gentle with me I'm a newbee !! Hi I've inherited my PB from my Dad who sadly passed away last December.During lockdown I fitted new front valences & repaired the roof. Now its about to go back on the road it needs new tyres,My question is , ,its standard 15 inch rims with 185 15 tyre ,what is a modern equivalent tyre size as close as possible to 185 15 ?

Hi and welcome. A sad way to get a Commer but they are great. Any pictures? Commercial tyres are a must. I’m sure someone will tell you sooner but if not I’ll try and see what mine are on Monday. I know the year is important for hubcap diam but don’t think it’s the same for tyres. Lots of helpful folk on here so you won’t get stuck for advice. :)

Hi and welcome to the Madhouse :)
I'm glad you have decided to take on your Dad's old van so the legacy lives on, but yes a very sad way for you to come into ownership.
You should still be able to get 185/15/C tyres (C for commercial) The fact that there is no profile number at the end of the tyre size means that they are a full profile tyre. The last number in the sequence, 70 - 80 - 90 or similar, is a percentage of the tyre width.

Would love to see a few pics of your van - it's the law:)
