Hi all ...I managed to get my solenoid off (note the rather crude looking home-made spanner lol) a standard 25mm spanner is way too thick to fit and a special tool is available at over £10[:0] so out came the grinder for some improvisation Can I test the solenoid by simply adding power to it ??
yes I can just add power...seems to be working fine, despite its nice rusty coat!!
I took the overdrive sump off too and cleaned the filters etc...I was pleasantly suprised at how clean they they was already[8D]
I turned the gearbox upside down to remove the sump and i weas amazed at how much oil trickled out of the little hole in the top (the hole for locating the linkage alignment tool) must of been a good half a pint...I am suprised that oil doesn't spray out of said hole when the van is in use??
hahaha it wouldn't stick to anything for all the crud lol ...i was thinking of very carefully putting a small bolt in the hole and taking it out after....oh, i so hope this one works this time
well Tigger is up on the ramps and has had his pre-med, his operation is booked in for tommorrow morning lol...it is not going to rain, it is not going to rain, it is not going to rain!!!!!
oh and no pic but who shot Tigger?? a hole has appeared in his rear end....an almost perfect hole through 2 layers of plastic cladding!!! looks very suspiciously like an air rifle attack
Some progress ..old gearbox out and new clutch fitted...I'm awaiting delivery of a couple of things and i forgot school broke up at lunchtime today Doh!!! so looks work will be held up for now! so i started rubbing down the undercarriage and applying some Hammerite..OMG what a tedious job that is!!
I think I had almost as much paint on my face and arms and shoulders and everywhere really lol as I got on the van....oh, to be able to roll it on its side for a day[8D]
