Almost as frustrating as waiting for insurance companies to get their arse in gear[V]

I wouldn't even dare try to compare our frustrations John.........I'm sure they may have similarities though! :);)[:(!]:D

Well, the weather has been a little kinda, so been able to crack on with a few bits....
managed to take the tank off to find the float was sticking on the baffles so simply persuaded the baffles to move over a bit! .....also sussed out why I have been having a job getting fuel in at the petrol station ....my breather pipe was about 4'' too long, so it had been allowing petrol to sit in the tube, thus causing a blockage, so I shortened that!......I fitted my new electric fuel pump, I mounted it on the chassis rail in front of the rear axle, I also took the manual pump away and fitted my nice magnesium blanking plate (thanks Tim)....I also replaced my heater hoses and gave the heater box and the rest of the system a good flush through, so feeling quite pleased:D

Next job will be the Hi-Lux front shocks;)

Cheers guys, I thought something was wrong with the pump at first...what an awful racket it made! ...It is fine now, it must of just been until it had primed itself ;)

No, sadly! ....it was getting dark and I was filthy and cold brrr! ...It's almost empty of fuel so tomorrow I will go for a run and top up with fuel.then if the weather is ok I will make a start on the front shocks, which may get held up once I get them off as Tim thinks he may have to machine a pair of metal sleeves for me, where the bottom pivot bolt goes through.....am I right in thinking you have done this mod John? do you remember what you did?

No, I fitted a new pair of standard shocks but I had to improvise with the eye bush as someone had used copper tube before[V] I just happened to have a couple of steel pipe fittings that were the right diameter and just needed the length cutting down:)

I did this mod on iceman. I used hilux shocks and all i had to do was slightly enlarge the bottom mounting hole. I think i used a 12mm drill and it has worked a treat. The ride is so much better.

I just need a good rootes...

Thanks for the input Aaron, I wonder if there are more than one type of Hi-lux shocks? as the eye hole in mine is 16mm .....haven't had time to get an old one off yet, so I will have to wait and see!

Well, I thought I was having a crap day until I saw Rich's news! ....I went and put £50 petrol in today to find the gauge was reading almost empty[:(!]

I had to take the tank off again Full of fuel, I think I wore about a gallon and managed to fill 2 fuel cans up! ...what a pig fiddle of a job, especially with it being so full! I had bent the baffles quite a way but obviously not enough! this time I gently bent the sender arm a little to the passenger side so it's now well away from the baffles, I should of done that in the first place!
It's now reading about 3/4 on the gauge so with what I lost on the floor and the 2 gallons in my shed, I guess that would be about right! .........Annoyed because I wanted to get the shocks off, but hey, ho, it's not the end of the world and I bet Rich would rather of had my day than his! :)
