Does anyone know what size the heater hose is? ....we split it a couple of times and cut the length down and it still has a small split so needs replacing
Next couple of jobs are to get the tank off as the gauge is stuck on half and fit an electric fuel pump that arrived today. Tim s making me a nice blanking plate for when the manual pump comes off[8D] Change the heater hoses and flush the rad.
Had a job to get a new rad cap today. I wanted a 15psi mini one and they didn't have one! Ended up getting a 14psi Merc one
Excellent, thank you Tim[8D] ....I tried to buy fuel line and water pipe today at local motor factors and.....gave up! fine if I wanted 1m lengths!....resorted to ebay, so things are now held up for a few days! ....
John, I can't recommend the 6-speed club enough! Go for it
hi colin, with the six speed box now in place and the head skimmed, has it given you more top end speed and if so by how much do you think, realisticly!
Well, all I can tell you is that on the way up to Tims, I achieved maybe 50mph without straining things and on the way home I achieved 70mph without straining things! ....it is worth mentioning aerodynamics of Tigger compared to a 'normal' van......I don't necessarily think the 'top speed' is the concern, it is how quickly and efficiently that top speed can be reached! ............forgive me rambling! , but whereas before I would have to scream the nuts off to be able to go from 2nd to 3rd and again in 3rd to 4th to maintain motion, now I can change through the gears without any thrashing and it will sufficiently pull sweetly through all gears.......The head skim gives shat loads more torque = power (not necessarily more top speed) .......My speedo head is a factory o/drive part which is a different calibration to standard...so my speedo reads apprx 5mph fast with the Lexus box, a standard speedo head reads apprx 10mph faster with the Lexus box.........all I can say is that according to my speedo, I can reach 60 - 70 mph with extreme ease and as I change through the gears it has plenty of grunt as opposed to feeling a massive 'flat' between gears before!....
Thanks John ....I have a new found enthusiasm and I can't wait to get the other few odd jobs done and start using Tigger a lot more often.....the weather and awaiting supplies from ebay are holding me back at the moment:I ....
Just took the plunge and ordered a set of Munro Toyota Hi-Lux front shockers ...so another job to do when they turn up....me thinks me going to get cold over the next week....why do I always seem to get my enthusiasm bursts at the end of the season? .....
