Yep Passed ok ...mild corrossion to front brake pipes, he just said rub them down and paint them Couple of funny moments.....he couldnt work out why the brake lights stayed on until i told him to release the handbrake and when he did the brakes on the rolling road he said they all work perfect ecept for there is no handbrake! ....I pointed out the handbrake works on the front wheels lol ...perfect....2 of the younger mechanics came over and asked me 'what actually is this van mate?'

well, been a while since posting here...but the sun is shining and it's time to start playing again..something was niggling away at me (apart from the o/drive issue) ...when I put an RC40 and K&N filter on smurf the difference was amazing....so, as you know I fitted an RC40 to Tigger....one of Martins induction kits was fitted previously! ...now, the exhaust defo made a difference but wasn't quite as prominent as before....I put it down to the extra weight of the coachbuilt, but still it kept niggling away at me.....now, I'm no expert and I thought my idea probably would make no difference at all....My idea was this.....on smurf, the filter was a KnN type bolted straight to the air intake of the carb.....at the moment the air has to travel from the front of the engine through 1m of 2'' hose, so, does this make it struggle to suck the air in quick enough?...As an experiment, I disconnected the 1m of hose and stretched an old piece of silk stocking over the intake and secured it with a jubilee clip and sparingly coated with grease as a temp filter.......Oh my god, what a remarkable difference to power, especially when pulling uphill[8D] ...No offence to the induction kit, but a new cone K&N is on it's way....Happy Days[8D]
