Well, naughty Barbara is really testing my patience[

!]. Having mistakenly thought that I had finally sorted evrything, I decided to take her for a run this evening down to Baz's place to have a curry as I have other things to do tomorrow and won't be able to go to Brands.
First, noticed that there was an oil leak, and quite a lot of oil was dripping onto my drive. seems I need to seal the fuel pump a bit better. Also, the rattling from the timing cover area is still there and I can see myself taking the radiator out again, for about the 8th time.
However, more annoyingly on the way to Baz's, the fuel starvation problem returned. Once again the engine was being starved of fuel when I had the throttle wide open for anything more than 5 seconds. I had put a new fuel filter on, so not sure where the rubbish getting into the carb might be coming from (assuming it is the same as before. In the end, on the way back, it was getting worse and worse and I limped off the a41 dual carriageway at a speed of around 35.
Once around town it was ok again, but there again I wasn't using much throttle. When I did put the new fuel filter on, it did take about a minute or two of turning the engine over for the fuel to get through to the engine again. Might there be a blockage in the tank or something?
Well, I am getting to the end of my patience with this machine. Every time it seems one step forward, and two back. Not sure if I am going to make it to blackpool, I'm afraid.
Andy
