I am afraid Babs won't be going to Bangor. I can only drive one vehicle, and will be taking the chamois as it will be parked in the for sale section. I couldn't persuade Ruth to come over for this one!
I'll get back to her once I get back, in between welding up a sunbeam alpine for someone. I think the 1724 cast into the side of the block gives away the capacity of the engine that we installed in babs. Not sure about the engine in the minx, but as the head is going to have to come off, I'll wait until then.
As far as the engine I put in the camper, we had to put the manifolds from the other engine on, which were running fine on that. I did have a spurt of fuel come out the top of the carb when it was turning over, which was similar to the other engine before I rebuilt the head. So, will be collecting a new head gasket set tomorrow, and will be putting the good head on it if a bit of fiddling with the timing and mixture doesnt resolve the idling issue.
At least the bottom end doesn't sound too rumbly.
