I MANAGED TO WHEEL SPIN THE DOG !!!!!!!!!!!!
fixed the heater hose. Put the engine covers on (sort of) and took the dog for a blat up and down the track where the cottage is. Managed a wheel spin in 1st (ok i was parked on wood chippings) only got into third as the track is too bumpy for any more (especially when you havent put the seats back in yet)
first couple of runs managed a fair bit of engine smoke (was really gunning it) all the tools and bits in the back I had forgotten to put away went crashing everywhere
after about 6 runs of annoying the neighbours the exhaust was clear - on full throttle theres a small puff of smoke every 5 or 10 seconds but lets remember its a 35yr old diesel at full revs.
so i now have to work out what I have done.
was it the overhauled injectors with new nozzles
was it the snakeoil "wonder treatment" in the oil
was it the anticarbon that a soaked the cylinders / piston rings in
was it the change up to 20W50 oil
was it the change of filters
i think each had their part to play but undoubtedly the biggest improvement was after the anticarbon soak of the cylinders
should be able to manage a run out on the road at the weekend - once the seats are in!
The Dog is home....
