Well here are some more pix of progress on the rosto. The underside has been primed and painted as well as the engine bay. I chose a high gloss black with yellow for the suspensios parts.
The engine is due back from the reconditioners this week and the gearbox/clutch and axle have been overhauled and are ready to go back in.

Oh wow! This is the kind of high standard work that I dream about doing myself in my fantasy garage with fantasy tool kit with my fantasy necessary skills. One day maybe ;) Excellent work, keep these kinda pictures coming!
 
Absolutely brilliant, a new benchmark[^] I don't think even the workers on the production line would have seen such a clean chassis:p

Well tomorrow is a big day. The engine is back and going in:)
The first real bit to be bolted back on so feels like some real progress after a zillion hours of being flat on my back underneath:):):)

Great news. If it is all done to the same high standard that we have seen so far, you should end up with a truly superb vehicle. Keep the piccies coming.

Hi all, and thanks for the encouragment on this project. You are all stars:)
Well now down to business. Had a good day in the garage today and got loads done. The engine has been totally rebuilt and is basicly new (ish).
Got the front subframe in and bolted up nice and tight before lunch. Then it was onto the engine and gearbox which went in easier than expected. Though i did have to remove the steering wheel as can only get access for the engine hoist from the drivers side.
After that was done on went a brand new old stock fuel pump.
Just waiting on a new SU carb to arrive so i can finish the mods to the intake manifold. I am doing the same as Commeracer in the 'ported manifold' thread. Even have the special rods for welding cast iron. I will also grind out the exhaust manifold to let it breath a bit easier.
Also plan to install an electric fan and get rid of the driven one (more horses:))move the fuel line in front of the radiator and set up a cold air intake. That should keep me going for a while!

The rocker cover was an old one just to cover the delicate bits during installation...
