Summer will soon be here!

Looking good :p
I fitted a big K&N filter to the 4108 in my Hunter, it seemed to help ;)

If I had bent a 90 degree angle along the bottom of sheet then I would never have been able to shape it along its length.

I say that's rather brilliant:)

Any other go faster tips you have please send them my way. The post office van is a hole level of slow that I just don't remember from driving the camper before I started restoring it.
The most I have ever had out the post office van is 55mph and that was stuck behind curtain sider lorry and being sucked along. When I was driving the camper I remember actually over taking one or to other vehicles on the motor way. The only difference is overdrive :-0

Make sure you fit an unrestrictive exhaust like an RC40, diesels hate back pressure ;)

talking back pressure, I have been thinking about making my own exhaust manifold. the one on the engine seems a bit restrictive. I could make a nice twin branch one, and join it under the gear box.
I have made worse manifolds before now

Do you know anyone that does a 6 branch for the Triumph 2000?

I have just picked up one for mine, but its an old one and in mild steel :). I have been after one for a long time as it makes a massive difference to both 4 and 6 pot triumph engines.

Chris Witor has them but at quite a price

Here's a go fast tip: How about fabbing a new exhaust manifold that will take a turbo? Then open up the diesel pump and you might see 65 mph? I had a mid 90's 2 litre diesel Toyota station wagon and it was s-l-o-w, I would hate to think what a much older, smaller, push rod diesel would be like in a big old, heavy, box shaped camper.

By the way, I've just gone through your thread, and your work is awesome.

Or tho when I was last using the van it was running all well and good. I thought after 5 years of being laid up I best get the pump looked at. Thank god I did as it needed a bit of work :-0

look at the corrosion damage on that. It wouldn't have lasted long until I started losing pressure!

I could not believe how easy the box went up in place, especially as I was on my back and on my own.

they are actually track road ends off a ride on mower. Cost me £30 odd to just make that rod, but it should last for ever now :)

I'm playing with wiring now. The problem is the van was made as a petrol, then had a gash ford diesel engine fitted and now I'm fitting the Perkins. So the wiring has been messed with so much.
I'm finding it hard, taking it all back to basics and then adding the extra wires I need for the Perkins diesel.
