The most I have ever had out the post office van is 55mph and that was stuck behind curtain sider lorry and being sucked along. When I was driving the camper I remember actually over taking one or to other vehicles on the motor way. The only difference is overdrive :-0
Here's a go fast tip: How about fabbing a new exhaust manifold that will take a turbo? Then open up the diesel pump and you might see 65 mph? I had a mid 90's 2 litre diesel Toyota station wagon and it was s-l-o-w, I would hate to think what a much older, smaller, push rod diesel would be like in a big old, heavy, box shaped camper.
