Not sure about the flood light, might be too powerful for the delicate circuitry in the panel. It would need a diffuser on it to be safe even then I would power it with a petrol generator so the output could be controlled easily.

There is also a hydro-electric generator system for caravans and campers. This one is ideal for winter use as it utilises a block of ice on the roof (you can freeze you own in the winter). As the ice melts it drives a series of mini turbines which generate enough power for lighting and even an electric blanket. Any excess power is stored in batteries and used to pump water back up to the roof to re-freeze during the night, very efficient but the roof needs a little re-enforcing. The good news is that it works great in the rain too:D

I'm real ale every day long....when I wad 19 I went out with my father in law, he refused to buy the Amber chemicals as you put it. So as I was skint I had to settle for a pint on bitter....which I still enjoy to this day.:D
