Rupert the Van

Well My day in court is due on the 16th April.

I have two expert witness reports one of which the defendants employed and both show the same defects on Rupert along with a few more that have emerged over the six months I have had the van back.

I have two estimates that quantify the amount to repair the defects.

So I am feeling pretty confident but being a law abiding citizen I am fully prepared for the British Justice system![:0]

Well done, shame it will cost more than that to put right.

Unfortunately it will take more to resolve however it has put the whole thing to bed.

I actually had Rupert as evidence which at one point meant everyone including the judge left the courtroom to go outside and have a look! Still to the end the two idiots that did this were blaming everyone else! They even admitted in court that the expert witness that they had insisted on had been instructed by them what to write. It made them look very very stupid and the judge very sympathetic to my cause.

A big lesson learnt for me and I am just glad that because of my job I am a meticulous record keeper!

I did arrive an hour early to the court just in case he decided to protest on the way!:D

Sheesh, I've just read this whole thread. What a nightmare for you and well done for having the stamina and resolve to see it through. I've no doubt that many of us lesser mortals might just have let it go not wanting the hassle. Best of luck getting your money back and I hope Rupert recovers!

Roughing it smoothly . . .

Correct! It came from a karmann ghia but looks quite good! I have joined a club called Safe Nights Ireland which is a wild camping group that list places in Ireland that you can safely camp not going to a campsite. Anyone on here got any experiences of this or possible recommendations ?

Also for our travels we have bought this journal to fill in, it has pages with pockets for tickets and areas to paste photos. Just came across it in a shop in a market in London. The cover is a silk screen print.

What a great find. The Commer appears to have a bit of a Wallace and Gromit expression on its face, as if it is saying 'we forgot the crackers Gromit!' :D
